This is the second custom journal I created for the recipient. I loved working with the black lace appliqué on the pocket and painting the spine with acrylic paints. The front cover image is peeking above the pocket. I love the look and you'll see it on a lot of the journals I create.
I created this custom journal for the daughter of a fellow crafter. The recipient loves to swim. So, I used the fabric with circular mirrors, which reminded me of the walls of a swimming pool.
The recipient's son gifted his Mother this journal, celebrating her 50 years as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. The colors of the sorority are pink and green. If you look closely, you'll see the pink thread used around the front cover image of AKA sorority members from Northwestern University.
This journal was a birthday gift for the customer's daughter-in-law. The recipient's favorite colors are coral and yellow. The fabric on the front cover, behind the image, was found at a local Salvation Army. I tea-dyed the fabric to better match the color palette.
I gifted this journal to a journaling community member's niece who loves butterflies, rainbows, and all things hair.
This journal was a gift for the customer's sorority line sister. The recipient has an interest in the Korean language, so I used a specialty paper I already had in my craft stash that had Hangeul (Korean) lettering. You can see it as the background of the front cover.
The recipient ordered this journal for her first-ever solo trip to Egypt. On the front cover is the torso (statue) of the first woman pharaoh, Neferusobek. I had the pleasure of browsing through this journal after the recipient came back from Egypt and it was filled with dried mint leaves, tour itineraries, receipts, and other items she brought back home.
This is a gifted journal for the violinist and artist, Sudan Archives. She's a lover of Afro-Futurism, fashion, and snakes. I really loved creating a journal in which she could document her album-writing journey.
